Browning 1878 – 65

1878 is not only the year Browning was established, but is also the name of their new Safe Series.

All 1878 Safes feature a rugged stained steel finish that will look great anywhere they reside. These Safes come loaded with premium features including 11-gauge steel, interior lighting, Axis Shelving, Full DPX with Scope Saver and Quick Access Barrel Rack.

A canyon-like interior expanse.

The 1878-65 provides an incredible amount of secure storage at the best dollar per cubic foot rate you’ll find. This safe is massive. The Extra Wide interior yields a maximum capacity of 65 long guns on the DPX door rack and Axis Adjustable Shelving will room to spare for handguns, optics cameras and other valuables. Though wide, the 1878 safe is only 60″ tall, giving you more options for safe placement than some of our taller models.

While the footprint of this safe is large, the exterior depth is a mere 25 inches to prevent it from protruding excessively into the room in which it is placed.

Browning has designed the look of 1878-65 to feel retro. The paint is a stained metal finish and includes an 1878 metal plate graphic. There is also a cast-iron wheel to open and close the safe. Inside features a beige fabric color.

Browning was able to get the 1878-65 Extra Wide Gun Safe UL Tool Attack listed for UL Residential Security Container (RSC) rated. It also features a 90-minute fire rating tested at outside temperatures up to 1680 degrees F. The 1878-65 holds up to 65 long guns including 13 on the door.

Limited Warranty:

ProSteel will warrant your safe for its lifetime against damage occurring from break in, attempted break in or fire to the original purchaser of any Browning ProSteel gun safe produced after January 1, 2006. Provide the proper documentation and we will replace or repair (at ProSteel’s discretion) your safe. ProSteel will arrange for and pay the shipping costs both to and from the factory and any reasonable locksmith costs necessary to open the safe.

Break in Warranty:

• If your Browning ProSteel safe is forcibly opened, we will replace or repair it at no cost to you.

Attempted Break in Warranty:

• If your Browning ProSteel safe has been attacked by forcible means, we will replace or repair it at no cost to you.

Fire Warranty:

• If your Browning ProSteel safe is damaged in a house fire, we will replace or repair it at no cost to you.
